So before I get started with this weeks posting…

I am sure you may have noticed, our web site has gone though a much needed face lift! The person responsible for this is our very own Mila!

So lately I have been thinking about what type of game our readers would like to see? As you might admit this is something of a guessing game based on previous experience. A guessing game that has real world consequences if you guess incorrectly.

So being something of a scientist myself I would like to try an experiment with out readers. You tell us what type of game “you” would like to play on your iphone or Windows Phone 7 device. Provide as little or as much detail as you want. Then the game that gets the most votes we (NightPen) will produce and put in the app store.

We here can’t wait to see what our lively community comes up with. I think this will be a lot of fun and you never know it might just make the top seller list in the store!

Until next week keep playing and have fun!

    The plot thickens!

Corona has released a beta of their amazing SDK for the WIndows Phone 7! Naturally we are trying it out now with Marble Master and we will keep you informed on how well it is working.

I have been writing code now for over 25 years and it never ceases to amaze me at how far our tools have come in the last couple of years. Even three years ago if you asked me how to write a game I would have said that you first need to learn how to program and then learn how to use a photoshop and so on. Now the web dynamic of “try this and see how it works” has come true. You still need to know some programming but you do not need to learn C++ in depth. Modern scripting languages like LUA, Ruby, Java and C# have lowered the bar to entry and made the every day job of the developer much simpler.

Now days developers can focus more on “what they want to do” and less on “How do I do it”.

Enough rambling I need to go check out this new Windows version of Corona!
